Walsden Cricket & Bowling Club (The Club) is committed to ensuring all Children and Adults participating in cricket have a safe and positive experience.<\/p>\n

Safeguarding is about creating a culture where the game interacts with children as participants in cricket, be this as All Stars, players, officials, coaches, spectators, or volunteers.<\/p>\n

Safeguarding in cricket is all about providing a safe and welcoming environment for children and adults.<\/p>\n

We recognise all children participating in cricket (regardless of age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, ability or disability) have the right to be protected from harm in a safe environment.<\/p>\n

It is about making sure they have fun, are safe and have a great time.<\/p>\n

We Adopt and implement the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) \u201cSafe Hands \u2013 Cricket\u2019s Policy for Safeguarding Children\u201d<\/p>\n

We ensure all individuals working within cricket at, or for, the club, are recruited and appointed in accordance with ECB guidelines, and relevant legalisation\/DBS certification.<\/p>\n

Through safe recruitment and vetting, we can endeavour to make sure that we have the right people training, volunteering, caring and supervising children at Walsden C&BC.<\/p>\n

We provide an environment where the views of children, adults, parents and volunteers are welcomed.<\/p>\n

This will help us create an environment where people have the opportunity to voice any concerns.<\/p>\n

The club have a appointed a Club welfare contact and ensure that they attend training modules required by the ECB.<\/p>\n

Club Welfare Contact Role<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Ensure good communication between Junior and General Committee. (New volunteers etc).<\/p>\n

Initiate DBS checks on all volunteers with roles within our club.<\/p>\n

Verify all documents used in the Disclosing and barring Service.<\/p>\n

Ensure all roles are entered on the SHMS system. (Safe Hands Management System)<\/p>\n

The first point of contact for parents, children and volunteers\/staff within the club.<\/p>\n
