All Senior Captains should act as role models in ensuring each player in his\/her team
complies with the following, both on and off the field
\u2022 To be fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all its junior
players and the game of cricket in general.
\u2022 All players must play within the rules and respect officials and their decisions
\u2022 All players must respect opponents
\u2022 Players must wear suitable kit for matches and practice sessions, as instructed
\u2022 Foul and\/or abusive language on or off the field is unacceptable
\u2022 Intimidation, aggressive behaviour and\/or deliberate distraction of opponents by
words or actions are unacceptable
\u2022 Players are not allowed to smoke or consume alcohol on the pitch at any time
\u2022 Players are not allowed to take drugs of any kind on the club premises or whilst
representing the club
\u2022 It is expected that teams will do their utmost to win but the highest standards of
sportsmanship in keeping with the spirit of the game should be displayed
\u2022 It is a requirement that all players under the age of 18 shall wear a helmet when
batting or keeping wicket standing up. There shall be no exception to this rule.
\u2022 Treat everyone equally and not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender,
disability, race, ethnic origin, nationality, colour, parental or marital status,
religious belief, class or social background, sexual preference or political belief
\u2022 Not provide Young People with alcohol when they are under the care of the Club
\u2022 Follow ECB guidelines set out in the \u201cSafe Hands \u2013 Cricket\u2019s Policy for Safeguarding
Children\u2019 and any other relevant guidelines issued
\u2022 Report any concerns in relation to a Young Person, following reporting procedures
